IT execs agree to relax remote working norms

Last week, the Indian government eased remote working for so-called Other Service Providers (OSPs). Technology industry executives on Friday then welcomed the latest relaxations in compliance and remote working rules for business process outsourcing (BPO) and IT-enabled services (ITeS).
The government also scrapped frequent reporting requirements, the mandatory publication of network diagrams and penal provisions, and registration requirements, among others.
Top company executives said easing OSP guidelines would help scale innovation and growth, and make India a global tech hub.
Nasscom said that the new guidelines will reduce the compliance burden on the industry, while HCL technologies termed it as a “progressive policy.”
