Carribean outsourcing firm itel expands into Belize

MONTEGO BAY, JAMAICA — Caribbean’s largest homegrown outsourcing firm itel has confirmed expanding into Belize.
The expansion into the Central American country indicates the success of a recent pilot project. A year ago, it tested the waters of the Belizean contact center service delivery with around 100 employees. This move exceeded client expectations.
“The warmth and the charm of the Belizeans fit right into the itel culture that we have developed over the last 11 years,” said itel Founding Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Yoni Epstein.
itel says it has kicked off the development of a facility that can accommodate up to 800 employees. It recently signed a lease on a prime location in Belize City. The company aims to make an initial capital expenditure investment of US$2.5 million.
The new site will connect the company to an available labor pool of over 60,000 as the area provides access to all routes and main city thoroughfares.
The firm is scheduled to officially launch operations in Belize by October 2023.
itel offers bilingual, end-to-end inbound and outbound, voice and non-voice contact center solutions. It has 15 facilities across the Caribbean, Latin America, and the United States and employs approximately 7,000.
