ITIDA, CBI partner to expand Egypt’s IT outsourcing sector in Europe

The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) will collaborate with the Centre for the Promotion of Imports (CBI) to support the Egyptian IT outsourcing (ITO) industry entrance to the European market.
The CBI of the Netherlands’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) offered a three-year program to support women-led and small or medium-sized IT enterprises from Egypt. The agency will provide technical assistance through business export coaching projects.
The coaching program will also prepare Egyptian firms in their goal to export their services to the European Union (EU).
ITIDA CEO Amr Mahfouz said that the program is a part of their “ambitious strategy” to triple the size of Egypt’s ITO and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) exports over the next five years.
The CBI will finance most project costs, while the participants will cover the travel expenses for European market entry activities, investment in product offers, employees, and certification.
The coaching program is part of a cooperation agreement signed by the CBI of The Netherlands’ MFA with the ITIDA, the Chamber of Information Technology and Communications, the Eitesal Association, and the Nile University.
