ITIDA, MAF to establish a shared services center in Egypt

The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has signed an agreement with leading integrated lifestyle provider Majid Al-Futtaim (MAF) Global Solutions to build a shared services center in Egypt.
The center, which is a first of its kind for MAF, will recruit a minimum of 600 new Egyptian employees to work primarily in its export activities.
ITIDA CEO Amr Mahfouz said that the partnership reflects Egypt’s increased appeal for foreign investors, specifically in the outsourcing and technology sector.
Mahfouz added that this move would also boost the country’s position as “one of the fastest-growing offshore destinations in the world.”
MAF Global CEO Khaled El-Chidiac shared his excitement over the collaboration which allows the firm to leverage “Egypt’s competitive advantages, most notably its diversified and abundant talent pool.”
As a witness in the signing of the agreement, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat emphasized the importance of the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry in the country. Further, he noted that it has helped position Egypt among the leading destinations for BPO and offshoring services in the world.
