Jordan king calls for BPO expansion
His Majesty King Abdullah directed business process outsourcing (BPO) representatives in Jordan to expand the industry and enhance its ability to adapt to the changing economic environment.
According to a Royal Court statement, King Abdullah acknowledged the sector’s role in providing job opportunities in governed provinces, facilitating work from home, and empowering women.
Over the past three years, the sector provided 8,000 jobs with plans to create 10,000 new job opportunities in the next two years.
His Majesty underlined the sector’s role in increasing national exports and attracting foreign investments, noting that BPO revenues increased from nearly $55 million in 2018 to $110 million in 2020.
