JTI-AMC bags PEZA Outstanding Employer Award

Japan Tobacco Inc.’s (JTI) manufacturing arm, JTI Asia Manufacturing Corp (JTI-AMC), received the Philippine Economic Zone Authority’s (PEZA) Outstanding Employer Award for the second consecutive year.
The manufacturing plant, which is located inside the Lima Ecozone, has earned recognition due to its efforts of generating employment and providing skills development programs during the pandemic.
JTI-AMC currently employs 900 people across 15 global markets.
The company’s pandemic response social responsibility project was also recognized by PEZA through the Outstanding Community Project (CSR).
JTI-AMC President Elena Trusova said that the two awards confirm the company’s “deep commitment to its employees’ welfare” and its effort to give back to the communities where the company does business.
JTI Philippines General Manager John Freda said “robust export sector with a strong manufacturing base are key ingredients in achieving economic development”, an initiative PEZA is actively advancing.
