Legato grows 8-fold amid pandemic, rebrands to Carelon

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Healthcare management services and solutions firm Legato Health Care Technologies, now rebranded as Carelon Global Solutions, says it enjoyed a robust eight-fold growth during the pandemic.
Carelon’s country head Nora Terrado said that the company’s employees grew from 800 to 7,000 during the period of 2020 and 2022.
“It was a challenging period during the pandemic, but we were scaling up. We were in growth mode despite the pandemic,” Terrado said.
Carelon attributes the growth to health insurance and healthcare companies in the United States seeking to improve their administrative efficiency and for their customers to have better access to health services.
“With the changing needs in the healthcare industry, nursing jobs are no longer limited on the bed side,” she said.
Carelon targets to recruit 1,500 additional employees with clinical expertise in the next two years. Terrado said they will be trained and will be equipped with data analytics skills.
She added that Carelon is investing in upskilling its workforce, specifically training them to utilize data in analyzing health cases.
