Marginal rise in global IT demand in Q1 – Everest Group

The global information technology (IT) demand saw a minimal increase with 436 outsourcing transactions in the first quarter of 2021, according to a recent report by IT research firm Everest Group.
The rise in global outsourcing transactions was driven by demand for cloud services, cybersecurity, digital engineering, and support for the modern workplace.
Demand for digital services and system integration services both witnessed an increase in recent quarters.
For system integration services, one of the major contributors to this trend is the adoption of advanced technologies such as big data, cloud-based services, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and numerous others.
Globally, companies are heavily focused on advanced automation, leveraging artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and cognitive technologies. There is also an increased focus on creating a digitally capable workforce.
