TOKYO, JAPAN — MAYA Staffing, a Japanese business process outsourcing (BPO) and staffing company, has acquired all shares of Kakeru, the operator of Mirakyari, a job agency that helps people in their 20s move into office work.
The share acquisition took effect on Oct. 1 and is meant to scale up MAYA Staffing’s recruitment placement business.
Access to young job seekers
Mirakyari supports job seekers in their 20s with no office-work experience, focusing on roles such as general administration and sales administration, according to a MAYA Holdings announcement.
Its main users are job seekers who come to the agency looking to move into office work.
The agency covers Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, Chiba, Osaka and Hyogo.
MAYA Staffing’s business centers on BPO contracts and temporary staffing, and its recruitment placement business has so far stayed small.
The company said expanding it required building contact with young job seekers, and Kakeru had built that base by focusing on a narrow segment.
Mirakyari to keep its own operations
Kakeru will continue to run Mirakyari, while MAYA Staffing applies its staffing know-how to improve the service, expand contact with users, find more hiring companies and strengthen post-placement support.
MAYA Staffing, based in Tokyo’s Shinjuku ward, provides BPO, general worker dispatch, paid job placement and HR consulting services, and holds licenses for worker dispatch and paid job placement.
Kakeru is based in Tokyo’s Shinagawa ward and is now wholly owned by MAYA Staffing.
Its parent, MAYA Holdings, runs 15 domestic companies across human resources, ICT, agriculture-welfare, restaurant and nail salon, and school support businesses.
The group was founded in February 2011, and the holding company was set up in February 2018.
The companies did not disclose financial terms.
The deal gives MAYA a direct line to entry-level administrative candidates, the same pool that feeds back office BPO work.
For Japanese employers, providers that combine staffing agency services with BPO can fill admin roles and outsourced processes from one partner.
Owning a recruiting channel can also help MAYA feed candidates into its dispatch and BPO teams.
Buyers can compare such providers against the top BPO companies worldwide list.
