MCI BPO broadens Philippine presence with EastWest BPO buy

FLORIDA, UNITED STATES — Outsourcing company MCI BPO has acquired EastWest BPO, effectively expanding its presence in the Philippines.
The acquisition also includes EastWest Technologies, EastWest BPO’s tech arm. In addition to stretching MCI’s footprint, the deal enhances the company’s technology delivery services.
According to MCI Chief Executive Officer Anthony Marlowe, the move aligns to meet their clients’ demands for technology and high-quality nearshore and offshore cost arbitrage.
“The acquisition of EastWest BPO & Technologies is a key step for MCI in expanding our offshore CX BPO contact center solutions,” Marlowe said.
“EastWest BPO, a mid-market provider, delivers top-quality service with highly tenured staff, which translates to happy clients [who] transition to MCI with a high degree of attention from [senior-level] vendor staff.”
Additionally, the deal will allow MCI’s clients to benefit from an expanded talent pool. EastWest BPO’s Philippine headquarters also provides MCI with a strategic and cost-effective location.
Located in San Fernando, Pampanga, EastWest BPO offers customer service, back-office, and sales support. It works with firms in the healthcare, retail, e-commerce, automotive, direct response TV, and insurance industries.
MCI BPO, which operates in eight countries, offers artificial intelligence (AI), contact center, Customer Experience (CX) solutions, and Anything-as-a-Service (XaaS) cloud technology applications.
Its subsidiaries include BPOaaS, BYC Aqua, Byron Yeats Consulting, EastWest Technologies, GravisApps, Gravis Marketing, MarchEast, Mass Markets, MCI BPO, MCI Federal Services, OnBrand24, Sydney Call Centre, Teletechnology, Valor Intelligent Processing, and Vinculum.
MCI BPO recently entered the South African market through its purchase of BYC Aqua. The acquisition, completed last year, aims to meet the growing demand of MCI’s English-speaking customers. South Africa boasts five million English speakers and an untapped youth unemployment rate of 50%.
