Medacs Healthcare boosts recruitment for Saudi Arabia

RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA — Global staffing group Medacs Healthcare is ramping up efforts to meet Saudi Arabia’s increasing demand for international health workers.
Following a series of successful recruitment events in London, United Kingdom, the company plans to deploy hundreds of consultant doctors and nurses to hospitals in the Saudi Arabian cities of Riyadh, Jeddah, and Taif.
Expanding recruitment efforts globally
Medacs has announced plans for additional hiring events across Europe and Australia, targeting the recruitment of 1,000 new healthcare professionals by 2025. This initiative aligns with a broader strategy to fulfill Saudi Arabia’s healthcare requirements, as projected by Colliers International.
Their assessment indicates that the country needs an additional 175,000 medical professionals by 2030, including 69,000 doctors and 64,000 nurses. The Saudization policy requires that 60% of these vacancies be filled by Saudi nationals.
Proven success in large-scale recruitment
Medacs Healthcare boasts a strong track record in managing large-scale recruitment projects. The group annually places approximately 8,000 international healthcare workers in various global locations such as the Middle East, the UK, Ireland, and Australasia (Australia, New Zealand, Oceania, and New Guinea).
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Medacs played a crucial role by recruiting nearly 9,000 laboratory staff for the UK Department of Health and Care.
Expertise in Gulf Region recruitment
With Arabic-speaking teams based in Dubai and London, Medacs has been recruiting staff for the Gulf region for many years. Recently, they have embarked on high-volume hiring projects specifically for Saudi Arabia.
Rebecca Watson, CEO of Medacs Global Group, highlighted their commitment to supporting the transformation of Saudi Arabia’s healthcare sector.
“In line with the 2030 Vision,” she stated, “the Kingdom (of Saudi Arabia) is revolutionising healthcare services and will need thousands of skilled workers to achieve their national health goals.”
Building a talent pipeline
Medacs has secured employment offers for consultant doctors across various specialties and developed a pipeline of over 500 qualified nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals ready for interviews at upcoming events in cities such as London, Dublin, Germany, France, Sweden, and Sydney.
Sustained growth in Middle East operations
Over the past five years, Medacs Healthcare’s operations in the Middle East have tripled in size. This growth is largely attributed to successful recruitment drives for major UAE healthcare groups through ‘in-person’ interview events in key source regions.
The Medacs team will attend the Global Health Exhibition at the Riyadh Convention Centre from October 21 to 23, 2024.
