Metro Manila remains under GCQ

Metro Manila and nine other areas will remain under the General Community Quarantine (GCQ), almost one year after the first lockdown restriction was put in place.
On Saturday, Malacañang announced the chief executive’s decision to keep Metro Manila, the provinces of Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Batangas and Lanao del Sur, along with Baguio City, Davao City, Iligan City and Tacloban City, under GCQ up to March 31.
Despite this, the government eased restrictions for domestic travelers. Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said, “Travelers shall no longer be required to undergo COVID-19 testing except if the LGU (local government unit) of destination will make testing as a requirement prior to travel.”
