Microsoft launches Bing Chat AI

WASHINGTON, UNITED STATES — Tech giant Microsoft is making its Bing GPT-4 chatbot available to everyone following a private preview launch last February.
The firm already announced last January that the chatbot is powered by GPT-4, also known as the AI behind the OpenAI-launched chatbot ChatGPT.
Bing Chat also receives several new features, such as image and video results, new Bing and Edge Actions features, persistent chat and history, and plug-in support.
The latter feature is particularly significant, as Microsoft is working with restaurant-reservation service company OpenTable and computational intelligence firm WolframAlpha to enable plug-ins that will allow developers to extend Bing Chat’s capabilities.
The company plans to share more details about Bing Chat and its features at its Build conference later this month. The plug-in support is expected to be a key addition for developers and could shape the future of Bing Chat.
Bing GPT-4 chatbot is now accessible via the new Bing or Edge with a Microsoft account.
