Millstone Medical moves testing services to Connecticut
MASSACHUSETTS, UNITED STATES — Medical device packaging and testing provider Millstone Medical Outsourcing will relocate its testing division to a new 25,000-square-foot facility in Bloomfield, Connecticut in the second quarter of 2024.
The $140 million company launched its testing services in December 2022 after acquiring Ethide Labs and MycoScience, bringing decades of microbiology and environmental testing expertise.
The new International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 17025-accredited lab will allow a 400% capacity increase and introduce sterilization validation, cleaning validation, shipping simulation, and organic chemical testing services.
“Millstone’s testing services have flourished since the launch one year ago, and this move enables us to expand our offerings and serve more OEM customers,” said Millstone CEO Karl Neuberger.
“In addition, relocating to the Hartford area will bring jobs to the region as well as simplify customer travel.”
The relocation supports Millstone’s rapid growth strategy, including recent investments in headquarters and plant expansions. It also follows the company’s cleanroom expansion earlier this year.
Headquartered in Fall River, Massachusetts, Millstone provides packaging, testing, warehousing, and distribution services to over 50 prominent medical device manufacturers globally. The privately-held company operates ISO-certified facilities in four states, with testing services relocating from Willington, Connecticut to the new Bloomfield site.
