Multinational firms plan expansions in PH ecozones
Several multinational firms are planning to expand their operations in the Philippines, the majority of which are in the electronics manufacturing and medical industries, according to the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA).
Existing eletronics investors Murata and Samsung have already expressed their plans in a meeting held before the holidays, PEZA said.
Murata is an established specific printer models producer in the country while Samsung has a major electronics manufacturing project in PEZA-administered ecozones.
The ecozone authority also met with Taiwanese investors — Yeonho Electronics President Kyeong Heyon An— including last month.
Aside from these firms, Philippine Ecozone Business Club Chairman Raju Sharma promised to bring in new Chinese investors in the country this year.
A PEZA official said that they are currently “gearing up for the economic upturn and registration of their big ecozone projects” for the first quarter of 2022.
