NCR’s alert level 3 to bring back 300K jobs – DTI

Metro Manila’s transition from Alert Level 4 to Alert Level 3 is expected to bring back over 300,000 jobs in the labor market, said Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez.
In a Viber message sent to trade reporters, Lopez stated that they are expecting this volume because of the reopening of the service sectors in the capital and the approved higher operating capacity of establishments.
However, the DTI chief said that employment numbers in the country are still not back to their pre-pandemic levels because businesses are not yet operating at full capacity.
Lopez added that since Alert Level 3 is similar to General Community Quarantine (GCQ), they are expecting about four percent of establishments to remain closed.
