NetApp, Red Hat partner for cloud innovation push

CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES — NetApp, an intelligent data infrastructure provider, and Red Hat, an open-source solutions provider, have deepened their partnership to enhance enterprise application development in virtualized environments.
This collaboration combines NetApp’s data infrastructure expertise with Red Hat OpenShift, a hybrid cloud application platform.
Enhanced virtualization solutions
The collaboration introduces new capabilities through Trident, NetApp’s container storage interface, which now offers integrated protection, migration, and disaster recovery features at no additional cost. The solution extends support for Google Cloud NetApp Volumes, providing customers with greater flexibility in managing their virtualized environments.
“We believe in the power of open source software to help businesses access the latest features and capabilities to run their IT environments,” said Stefanie Chiras, Senior Vice President, Partner Ecosystem Success, Red Hat.
“At the core of the open-source philosophy is collaboration, and in that spirit, we are expanding our collaboration with NetApp to help empower customers with the flexibility they need to drive innovation in their virtualized environments.
Market impact and innovation
The partnership particularly benefits enterprises using Red Hat OpenShift, which is currently trusted by more than half of the top 25 Global Fortune 500 companies. The integration offers streamlined application lifecycles and enhanced AI capabilities, supported by NetApp’s high-performance flash storage and advanced data management features.
“NetApp intelligent data infrastructure with Red Hat OpenShift makes it simpler and faster for customers to adopt and manage their virtualized environments, as well as deliver performance, mobility and security for critical data managed on Red Hat OpenShift AI,” said Jonsi Stefansson, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at NetApp.
