New call center to bring more jobs in Antique

The opening of Call center solutions provider IXL Solutions Philippines is set to bring more job opportunities in San Jose de Buenavista, Antique within the next two months.
San Jose de Buenavista Municipal Economic Enterprise and Development Officer (MEEDO) Darcy Bungay said that IXL would be the second biggest call center that would open in the municipality, with up to 150 seats.
He added that the municipality’s mayor, Elmer Untaran, would like to invite investors that could help generate employment and “beef up” the economy.
The municipality’s Maror Elmer Untaran and IXL CEO Adrian Funtelar signed a lease contract last August 8 for the 480-sq m office space occupied by the investor on the second floor of the San Jose de Buenavista Business Park.
Bungay stated that the presence of the call centers could also provide indirect income to the municipality through spending on food, transportation, and other necessities.
Schools like Saint Anthony’s College and Advance Central College situated in the municipality are producing graduates who are proficient in English proficiency and could be employed at the call center, he added.
