Nexusguard launches PH cybersecurity program

Cloud-based cybersecurity solutions provider Nexusguard — together with various well-known universities, colleges and companies — launched its Cybersecurity Specialist Program in the Philippines.
The program features a methodical defense-in-depth approach in learning skills to help students understand cybersecurity controls, enable fast incident response and secure web applications.
Aside from upskilling Filipinos, this initiative also aims to train individuals to restart their careers and join the cybersecurity industry.
According to a report by Nexusguard, cyberattacks on industries providing connectivity, essential services and entertainment increased by 341% during the pandemic.
Nexusguard Chief Technology Officer Juniman Kasman said that cyber criminals took full advantage of the situation using stealthier, smaller but more complex attacks.
Nexuguard’s Program Director Ruben Mondejar said that, “Nexusguard Academy was established to offer cybersecurity courses that enable CSPs to become cybersecurity managed providers.”
“It also assists individuals to be trained by cybersecurity practitioners who have years of experience at the front lines.”
Aside from Metro Manila, Nexusguard expanded the reach of its cybersecurity program to Taytay, Rizal and Sta. Teresita, Batangas, kickstarting a mission to bring world-class cybersecurity education to the rest of the country.
