NGDC, DTC to be built in the PH

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the Baguio City Government have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the design and implementation of the National Government Data Centre (NGDC) and the Digital Transformation Centre (DTC) in the country.
This partnership will enhance the ICT upskilling efforts in the Philippines and strengthen the ICT entrepreneurship ecosystem specifically in Baguio City.
The DTC will serve as a dedicated training and co-working space for Filipinos who are developing their digital skills. While the NGDC would be utilized to provide faster and more reliable data exchange among agencies at a lower cost.
DICT Secretary Gregorio B. Honasan said that they aim to “build a better investment environment for the ICT industry, to ensure abundant job opportunities for our workers, and to create more thriving local economies across the country.”
Last 2020, the DICT held various ICT skills and literacy training for over 180,000 tech professionals in the Philippines.
