NTT Com, transcosmos partner for AI-powered BPO solutions

TOKYO, JAPAN — NTT Communications Corporation, a subsidiary within the NTT Group, and transcosmos inc. recently forged a deal that will further push the limits of the digital business process outsourcing (BPO) services sector.
Signed on July 17, 2024, the deal will bring together advanced AI technologies from NTT Com with transcosmos’ wide-ranging business know-how to provide new services in digital BPO.
It does so at a time when Japan grapples with the twin challenges of a shrinking and aging population, while businesses embrace new digital transformation initiatives for sustained growth.
Next-generation contact centers and GX solutions
Among the major initiatives expected from this collaboration is the AI-powered contact centers being developed using NTT’s large language model called tsuzumi.
These will have added security features, making them especially attractive to financial industries where data protection is key. The companies hope to institute such centers in about 100 companies by the end of 2027.
Beyond this, the partnership will be guided toward Green Transformation (GX) Solutions, such as end-to-end services that cover all aspects of greenhouse gas emissions management. This one-stop solution will automate the entire process from data collection to visualization, significantly reducing the manual effort required by businesses.
Global reach and future prospects
NTT Com develops managed IT infrastructure solutions and currently provides services in over 190 countries. It brings the latest technologies around generative AI, 5G, and cloud services to the table.
Meanwhile, with a strong presence in 35 countries and ample experience with BPO services, transcosmos provides comprehensive support to enhance business processes and customer interactions.
The partnership sets an ambitious goal of creating a ¥100 billion ($691 million) business within the next five years. This collaboration not only aims to enhance the competitive edge of their clients but also contributes to the sustainable growth of Japan’s economy.
