NTT DATA taps Ex-NVIDIA, AWS veteran as CEO of new AI unit

TOKYO, JAPAN — NTT DATA has appointed AI industry veteran Bratin Saha as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its newly formed Silicon Valley-based subsidiary, NTT DATA AIVista, Inc.
The move is a direct strategic push to accelerate the creation of AI-native businesses and services for global clients by leveraging top-tier talent and cutting-edge technology.
“We have found an inspirational and fantastically well-qualified leader to help us drive the transformation of NTT DATA’s growth model for the AI era,” said Yutaka Sasaki, President & CEO of NTT DATA Group.
New Silicon Valley AI company for NTT DATA
This is a dedicated, 100%-owned subsidiary headquartered in the heart of international technology innovation, Silicon Valley.
Its goal is to accelerate the launch and scaling of AI-native businesses not only for NTT DATA but also for the broader NTT group companies, signaling a consolidated, high-priority approach.
This strategic shift is a direct response to what company leadership identifies as a “global acceleration in the shift to AI-driven business models.” Sasaki framed the commercialization of advanced AI technologies as a “strategic imperative.”
The new entity aims to fuse NTT DATA’s established consulting and engineering services with cutting-edge AI technologies and Silicon Valley’s talent pool, positioning it as a vehicle for transforming the corporation’s entire growth model for the new era.
Leadership as catalyst for market credibility, scale
Recruiting Saha is a strategic move that would bring a track record of scalability and credibility to NTT DATA’s AI vision.
The experience Saha has at three of the cloud and AI companies, NVIDIA, AWS, and DigitalOcean, uniquely combines knowledge in high-performance computing, platform development, and product-led growth.
His experience is in developing commercially successful, large-scale AI infrastructure and services, which he most famously helped build into the multi-billion-dollar AI business at AWS.
Saha’s recorded achievements directly align with the challenges of standing up a new venture. At AWS, he led the creation of “one of the fastest-growing businesses in AWS history” through products like Amazon Q, SageMaker, and Bedrock. At DigitalOcean, his launch of AI products contributed to an increase in market capitalization.
He notes that “the next era of enterprise transformation is being powered by AI—yet true impact will be realized only when AI is paired with deep expertise in reliable, scalable technology deployment.”
This suggests AIVista’s differentiation will be enterprise-grade, trustworthy AI deployment, leveraging the parent company’s legacy to meet a market need it has successfully addressed before.
