NY-based healthcare outsourcer to expand in PH

New York-based Information Technology And Business Process Outsourcing (IT-BPO) company in healthcare services Anthem, Inc. is looking into expanding in the Philippines.
In a statement, Anthem Strategic Operations Head Stella Aquino said that they are looking into prospects in the province of Iloilo as it is a strong base for nursing professionals.
For his part, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary and Board of Investments (BOI) Chairman Ramon Lopez said that there is an increased interest in investments in telecommunications, broadband, interconnectivity, satellite services, and other digital industries thanks to the economic reforms made by the current administration.
He stated that these investments can be beneficial for the IT-BPO industry as they could lead to better connectivity in the country.
Anthem Diversified Business Group COO Rajat Puri also disclosed that they are also planning to “explore prospects in the pharmaceutical technology sector” in the Philippines.
Legato Health Technologies, the local arm of Anthem, started its Philippine operations last November 2018 with a total investment of PHP 950 million (US$18 million). Currently, the company’s headcount has already reached 8,000 personnel.
