One out of 5 US employers to prioritize remote workers’ well-being – Mercer

One of five employers in the United States (US) will prioritize their remote workers’ well-being by offering various perks — including home delivery of meals and subsidized furniture — to address the challenges presented by working from home, according to a survey conducted by employee benefits consultant Mercer.
The survey, conducted with 1,502 respondents between June and September, showed that several companies are looking to provide at-home alternatives to offer to their employees.
In addition, the survey recorded that one of four employers are looking to emphasize virtual care strategies for workers living away from urban areas.
Meanwhile, 76% of respondents with 500 or more employees said that they will put their staff’s mental and emotional health on their top priority over the next 3-5 years.
Mercer also reported that about one-third of the respondents said that they are already offering a virtual behavioral healthcare option to their employees, while 21% are considering the option.
