Only 3 in 10 workers believe that their company made efforts towards diversity

Less than 28% of employees in the United States (US) believe that their company made efforts to become a more diverse workplace over the past two years, according to a survey released by talent and outsourcing company Yoh.
In the report, 30% of respondents reported that while their company acknowledges holidays related to race/ethnicity or gender, no specific actions have been taken to advocate for these groups.
Among Hispanic employees, 41% say their company acknowledges holidays related to race, ethnicity, or gender but doesn’t take any specific actions to advocate for these groups.
Thirty percent of white employees feel similarly, and 27% of Black employees also agree.
Meanwhile, over 30% of Hispanic employees said that their company talks about improving diversity and equity but does not follow through with any action; 20% of Black employees and 18% of white employees feel the same.
Yoh President Emmett McGrath said it is critical for businesses ”to develop diversity, equity and inclusion programs to ensure that their talent acquisition strategies are free of inherent biases so they can build teams that are full of people with various experiences and from all different backgrounds.”
