U.S. BPO Optum to open 1,500 jobs in PH

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) firm Optum Global Solutions is expected to generate around 1,500 jobs in Davao City, Philippines, after receiving the green light from the Philippine Board of Investments (BOI).
The United States-based company will establish a new site at The Uprise Building-C in Davao City that will offer a range of information technology, call center, and back-office operations services, predominantly targeting the export market.
Optum’s services will include coding, testing, maintenance, help desk troubleshooting, transaction processing, clinical processes, and analytics.
Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Undersecretary and BOI Managing Head Ceferino Rodolfo lauded the development, adding that the BPO sector’s evolution “enables us to expand our capabilities, supporting the entire healthcare journey of patients with complex, digitalized end-to-end customer experience services.”
Optum Philippines, a subsidiary of Optum Global Solutions International B.V., operates as a wholly-owned entity that runs 15 projects across the country. Their latest expansion follows President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s visit to Washington earlier this year.
