Outsource Fiji launches online BPO scholarships

SUVA, FIJI — Outsource Fiji unveiled a new online scholarship program in collaboration with the micro-learning provider Learning Planet to enhance professional development in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector.
According to Outsource Fiji Executive Director Sagufta Janif, this program is tailored specifically for BPO sector personnel and those aiming to join the industry.
The initiative was created from feedback from BPO members who voiced the need for structured learning in the field. Janif highlighted the crucial role that education and training play in the BPO sector, addressing it as one of the most substantial costs in their operations.
Learning Planet Director Derek Good shared that their open-source learning platform includes nine key modules, covering areas such as communication, customer skills, telephone etiquette, sales skills, leadership, time management, conflict management, and mental health improvement.
Good expressed optimism about this partnership, viewing it as a platform for BPO teams to attain world-class expertise and cater to global service demands.
To date, 315 BPO sector workers have registered for the program. Outsource Fiji also offers 100 scholarships to jobless individuals aged 18 and above with a Year 12 qualification, demonstrating the BPO sector’s commitment to continual learning and staying ahead in a dynamic industry.
