Outsourcing Inc. delays Q2 report, investigates subsidiary

TOKYO, JAPAN — Staffing provider Outsourcing Inc. moved its Q2 revenue announcement from August 14 to October 13 due to internal investigations on its subsidiary, Outsourcing Technology Inc.
In a notice on the company’s website, Outsourcing Inc. revealed two main issues that prompted this probe. First, the mismanagement of employment adjustment subsidy applications between February and June 2020.
The company confirmed that some staff prepared documents on behalf of others due to difficulties in collecting the required documentation. This discrepancy has been brought to the attention of the Tokyo Labor Bureau.
Second, Outsourcing Technology Inc. engaged in questionable dealings with recruitment media firms, bypassing its usual approval protocols for contract signings.
In response, Outsourcing Inc. convened an external committee of independent professionals, including attorneys and an accountant, on August 1, 2023. Their findings are anticipated by the end of September.
The company asserted its commitment to transparency, pledging to “cooperate fully with the external investigation” and to implement preventative actions based on the committee’s recommendations once the report is out.
Outsourcing Inc. also vowed to take effective measures — based on the proposal of the external investigation committee— to prevent the recurrence of this event.
