Pakistan boosts youth hi-tech training
ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN — Umar Saif, Pakistan’s acting IT and Telecommunication Minister, recently revealed the country’s renewed emphasis on enhancing hi-tech skills among its youth. The strategy also envisions fostering high-tech adoption in local enterprises.
In an interview, Saif said that the government wants to create a “digitally literate society in Pakistan.”
“We will provide all required infrastructure and now with more focus on high-tech skills will increase demand in area of IT,” he added.
He elaborated on the nation’s resolve to bolster infrastructural support, anticipating a surge in IT demand due to the hi-tech skill emphasis.
Highlighting the importance of skill-based empowerment, Saif noted that a skilled workforce is not just an asset but also pivotal for steady economic growth.
When questioned about the IT sector’s economic role, he stressed the government’s intent to nurture and expand the technological landscape. He also pledged unwavering support to domestic industries aiming for growth and investment.
On digital transformation, Saif projected a revitalized economy with a clearer financial framework, adding that the Pakistani government “continues to focus on the sustainable growth of the IT sector and attracting more international students to study in the regions.”
