PEAK Outsourcing expands in Belize, promising 500 new jobs

BELMOPAN, BELIZE — Global business process outsourcing (BPO) company PEAK Outsourcing has inaugurated a new delivery center in Belize City, marking a significant expansion of its operations in the country.
This development follows an agreement signed with the local government to provide BPO skill training to residents and assist with job placements.
Job creation and economic impact
Belize City Mayor Bernard Wagner previously announced last July that the new facility is expected to create 500 new jobs in the local BPO sector. This expansion builds upon PEAK’s initial entry into Belize in 2022 when it started operations with 120 agents at its office on Coney Drive in Belize City.
“This is a huge milestone for us because we had filled the facility across the street with a hundred FTEs [full-time employees], which showed that there is [a] great commitment for the North American clients and the UK clients to be positioning business in Latin America and Central America. So there’s a great demand for doing business within Belize,” said Charles Harmornick, CEO of Peak Outsourcing.
Wagner, who attended the launch, highlighted the positive impact of such investments on the local economy.
“Whenever you have enterprises investing in buildings, in acquiring land, in fixed assets, you know that you have to have some measure of confidence in the direction the economy is going for the country and for the city,” said Wagner.
Belize’s growing BPO sector
Belize’s Prime Minister, John Briceño, emphasized that both tourism and BPOs are driving job growth in the country. The BPO sector has seen significant growth, with over 15,000 Belizeans now employed in the industry.
This expansion aligns with the government’s efforts to diversify the economy and create new employment opportunities.
Services and workforce development
PEAK Outsourcing offers a range of services, including:
- Tech support
- Customer service
- Back-office functions (finance and accounting)
At the opening ceremony, Harmornick highlighted the company’s approach to recruitment, stating, “What we’re looking for at PEAK is passion, desire, a willingness to learn and a work ethic. If you possess all of those, we can help you learn the skills needed to be able to do this.”
PEAK Outsourcing is subscribed to the Outsource Accelerator (OA) Source Partner Program, a powerful tool that helps BPO firms with marketing, sales, and business intelligence.
The company operates primarily in Belize and the Philippines. It plans to continue expanding into other Latin American markets while maintaining its commitment to providing tailored solutions that meet the specific needs of its global clients.
