PEZA-approved investments reach P3.9tn in 25 years

PEZA-approved investments reach P3.9tn in 25 years

The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) has approved a total of P3.9 trillion worth of investments since its inception 25 years ago.

PEZA Director General Charito Plaza said these investments came from 4,605 companies operating in PEZA-registered economic zones nationwide. Twenty five years ago, there were only 331 registered firms in PEZA.

As of last month, Plaza said PEZA ecozones continue to increase from 16 ecozones 25 years ago to 410 ecozones. PEZA-registered firms have contributed USD839 billion in export revenues since 1995.
