PH BPO sector’s revenues hit $26.7bn last year

The Philippine Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry generated a total of $26.7 billion in revenues, recording a 1.4% growth amid the pandemic.
BPO firms also hired 1.8% more employees last year, resulting in a total of 1.32 million direct employment in the Philippines.
According to a survey conducted by the IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP), 87% of BPO companies in the country are expecting five to 15% growth this 2021.
“It appears that the sentiment of businessmen and country heads is positive on the growth of the industry this 2021,” said IBPAP president Rey Untal.
