PH exports to Denmark rose by 205% y-o-y in September
Export deals between the Philippines and Denmark grew by 205% to $130.2 billion year-on-year in September amid the pandemic, according to preliminary data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
This current figure shows a triple-digit growth from $24.7 billion during the same period last year.
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said that 49.9% of export between the two countries consists of the catamaran ferry built by the Austal Philippines. Meanwhile, the export of hearing aids indicated the highest growth this year at 727.6%.
Philippine Ambassador to Denmark Leo Herrera-Lim said that 2021’s export growth rate surpasses pre-pandemic levels “by more than 300%” and shows “stronger bilateral trade relations” between the Philippines and Denmark.
Herrera-Lim added that they are working on pursuing more investors and market opportunities — specifically in shipbuilding and manufacturing — to boost the export industry of the country.
