PH extends travel restrictions

The Philippines has extended its travel restrictions on 10 countries until August 31 to control the spread of the COVID-19 Delta variant in the country.
These countries include India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said that President Rodrigo Duterte has made this decision in line with the recommendation from the IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases).
Roque also announced that Duterte has accepted the request of airlines to resume its international transit hub operations. Although, it will be limited to airside transfers in the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminals 1, 2, and 3 from the green listed countries only.
The spokesperson stated that any traveler who shows symptoms shall be isolated and quarantined under the account of the sponsoring airline.
