PH firms urged to focus on digitalization

Corporations in the Philippines are advised to prioritize digital transformation and ensure that workforce education will match the acceleration of the technology used in the workplace.
During the BusinessWorld Economic Forum, Management Association of the Philippines President Alfredo Pascual said that focusing on digitalization could help boost the country’s economic growth and development.
Pascual also discussed different ways to “reengineer” human resource strategies for post-COVID-19 workplace realities.
To stay competitive in this new economic environment requires new strategies and practices, he said that companies “have to elevate the role of human resource executives.”
Moreover, Pascual suggested investing in upskilling employees and producing more business leaders that will help drive local economic growth
“One of the important skills of an effective leader is communication. He must be able to communicate the vision and purpose that he has committed to. But it’s just a starting communication. There must be a demonstration, an action,” Pascual explained.
Pascual was recently handpicked by President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr. as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary of the new administration.
