PH gov’t to set up IT-BPM locators in 31 cities by 2025

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The current government is looking to establish Information Technology and Business Process Management (IT-BPM) locators in 31 cities throughout the country by 2025.
During his keynote speech at the Philippine Business Opportunities Forum, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Alfredo Pascual said they are planning to reach this goal through the Digital Cities Program.
“We are aligning similar efforts towards the digital transformation of government, which should help in robust data systems for programming, efficient service delivery, and more transparency in transactions with the government,” Pascual added.
The forum is an integral part of the recently concluded official visit of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to Japan.
Targeted at attracting Japanese investors to the Philippines, the forum highlighted the country’s efforts to improve digital connectivity and infrastructures to make business transactions more seamless.
Pascual added that the government is looking to elevate the Philippines as a manufacturing hub for the ASEAN region.
The Trade Chief also emphasized that the Philippines is “the place to go” for companies looking for potential growth in human resources, BPOs, and manufacturing.
