PH seeks to reach 90% vaccination target before 2022 elections

The Philippine government is aiming to reach its 90% vaccination target in February 2022, a few months before the presidential elections, said vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr.
During the arrival of additional Pfizer vaccine doses at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Galvez disclosed that the government’s strategic program has been changed due to the Delta variant, upgrading the threshold for herd immunity to 90%.
This would amount to an estimated 90 million people out of the country’s 110 million population.
Currently, the Philippines has received over 66.9 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines from various manufacturers worldwide.
The government also recorded that there are 18.5 million fully inoculated individuals as of September 20.
