PH set to continue Astrazeneca vaccine rollout

While other European countries suspended the use of AstraZeneca vaccines due to some supposed health risks, the Philippines will continue its vaccination drive.
In a joint statement, the Department of Health (DoH). and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said it was aware of the decision, but they emphasize that “there is no indication for the Philippines to stop the rollout of AstraZeneca vaccines.” They also assured that they will closely monitor all deployed vaccines.
This month, the Phil;ippines received 525,600 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines. WHO Country Representative Rabindra Abeyasinghe has previously stated that the Philippines would get 4.58 million AstraZeneca vaccines by May under the facility.
