PH targets to inoculate 250K people daily once vaccines arrive

The Philippines is targeting to vaccinate at least 250,000 individuals against COVID-19 every day as soon as its vaccine orders arrive in the third quarter. This is so the country can meet its goal of vaccinating at least half the population this year.
While the country has started its initial vaccination drive last week, the vaccine orders paid for by foreign loans will only arrive by July. A week after receiving its initial vaccine donations, the Philippines has only administered 44,000 doses.
“In the initial stages it will be really difficult to measure this and have a steady state of inoculations per day simply because our supplies are just trickling in at the moment,” COVID-19 response deputy chief implementer Vince Dizon said in an interview with ABS-CBN News Channel.
