PH to receive Pfizer shots from COVAX in Q2

The Philippines is among the countries set to be the main recipients of the Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine from the COVAX facility between April and June.
According to the Gavi Vaccine Alliance, which co-leads the COVAX facility with the World Health Organization (WHO) and other partners, around 14.1 million doses are allocated to 47 countries for delivery. Among the list of Q2 recipients are Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, South Africa, and Ukraine.
The facility is also set to deliver AstraZeneca vaccines to 142 participants; however, it’s experiencing “some delays” which may extend deliveries past May.
