PH to see impact of COVID-19 vaccination by year-end

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said the Philippines is expected to see fewer COVID-19 cases as an effect of its vaccination drive by October or November, as most residents in highly urbanized cities will be inoculated by then.
In a press briefing, Palace spokesperson Harry Roque added, “Let’s expect that once vaccines and those vaccinated increase, the number of those infected with COVID-19 will go down.” (translated from Filipino)
The Philippines aims to vaccinate two-thirds of its population, or around 70 million people, this year to achieve herd immunity. Currently, the country has received 3.025 million COVID-19 shots.
