PH welcomes NOW telecom

Philippines welcomes NOW telecom to sell their mobile broadband services with the Anti-Read Tape Authority (ARTA) lifting the telecom company’s regulatory restraints.
In a report from Manila Standard, ARTA has ordered the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) to expand the operator’s telecoms license, giving it permission to provide mobile, fixed-line and fixed wireless access services, reported Manila Standard.
The resolution read: “ARTA did not rule on the rights and obligations of parties, but merely resolved the issue whether the documents submitted by NowTel (Now Telecom) are complete which will warrant an automatic approval by operation of law.”
Now Telecom’s new provisional license includes the use 220MHz of spectrum in the 1,970MHz-1,980MHz, alongside 2160Mhz to 2170Mhz and 3.6Ghz to 3.8Ghz, including 5G frequencies for mobile and fixed wireless.
