Philippines eyes $6.7Bn healthcare outsourcing boom, courts U.S. market

NEW YORK, UNITED STATES — The Philippines is aiming to lead the world in healthcare outsourcing by pitching United States companies the benefits of hiring Healthcare and Information Management Services (HIMS).
With the sector projected to hit $6.7 billion in revenue by 2028, the country is leveraging its skilled workforce and competitive IT-BPM infrastructure to attract American healthcare businesses.
Philippines’ HIMS sector poised for rapid growth
The Philippines’ Healthcare and Information Management Services (HIMS) sector is on track for 9% annual growth through 2028, fueled by rising demand from U.S. healthcare providers.
According to the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC), the industry already generated $4.2 billion in 2024,, up from $4 billion in 2023, accounting for 12% of the country’s $38 billion IT-BPM revenue.
A recent hybrid seminar in New York, attended by 45 Filipino-American healthcare business owners and managers of home health agencies, highlighted the sector’s ability to address U.S. operational challenges like billing, compliance, and cost efficiency.
Benedict Uy, Trade Commissioner, emphasized that Philippine HIMS firms offer high-quality, scalable solutions, citing $79 million in deals secured at the 2025 HIMSS Global Health Conference.
Major U.S. roadshows, global conferences boost Philippine profile
Backed by government agencies and industry groups, the Philippines is intensifying efforts to capture more of the global healthcare outsourcing market.
A major roadshow in Las Vegas last March showcased the country’s IT-BPM and HIMS capabilities to potential U.S. partners, organized by the Healthcare Information Management Association of the Philippines (HIMAP).
Leading Philippine firms like ADEC Innovations, Inspiro, and Pointwest Innovations Corporation will join the event, alongside government bodies such as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), and CITEM.
Officials in Bacolod City are also publicizing HIMS providers from the city as part of the “Make It Happen in the Philippines” initiative. Expected to generate another 290,000 jobs by 2028, the sector will become an essential pillar of the country’s IT-BPM expansion.
