Quarantine removed for fully-vaxxed travelers, OFWs

Fully-vaccinated tourists and returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) are no longer required to undergo quarantine when entering the Philippines starting February 1.
According to acting Presidential Spokesperson and Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles, only a negative RT-PCR test — taken 48 hours before they arrive in the country — and a 7-day self-monitoring will be required.
Additionally, the government has lifted its “green,” “yellow,” and “red” COVID-19 risk classifications for other countries, territories, and jurisdictions.
Meanwhile, the unvaccinated, partially vaccinated, or individuals whose unvalidated vaccination status should present a negative RT-PCR test, undergo facility-based quarantine until the release of their negative RT-PCR test taken on the fifth day and be on home quarantine until their 14th day of arrival.
The local government units (LGUs) and their respective Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams will monitor the home quarantine of arriving passengers.
Children below 12 years of age who are not yet vaccinated will follow the quarantine protocol and shall be accompanied by their parents or guardians.
Nograles stated that the easing of quarantine restrictions was based on the recommendations of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) and the sub-technical working group on data analytics in the country.
