Reed Global acquires Code Nation for tech training

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM — Reed Global has acquired Code Nation to bolster its tech talent training capabilities amid an industry-wide skills crisis.
Reed is a provider of permanent, contract, temporary, and outsourced recruitment solutions, assisting job seekers and employers. Code Nation, on the other hand, is a pioneering training company that offers courses and bootcamps in coding and software development.
Addressing the skills gap
The acquisition allows Reed to offer comprehensive technology recruitment and training solutions to clients struggling to find qualified professionals.
“The stark gap in digital technology skills is a known, wide-scale problem. The pace of change and fierce competition for technology and digital skills is far outstripping the workforce,” said James Reed, Chairman and CEO of Reed.
“We realised that partnering with a training provider wasn’t enough. We needed to be able to recruit and reskill new talent, or upskill existing employees, at a pace that matches market demands. Acquiring Code Nation allows us to do just that.”

Code Nation, founded in 2018, has rapidly grown into one of the UK’s top digital and technical training providers. It specializes in high-demand areas like software engineering, data, cyber security, and robotic process automation.
Prospects and strategic goals of Reed
The acquisition is set to enhance Reed Talent Solutions significantly, which offers contingent and permanent workforce solutions. With Code Nation’s resources, Reed will be able to provide more tailored training solutions that tackle specific business pain points.
David Muir, Founder of Code Nation, who will continue his leadership as Managing Partner, expressed his optimism about the merger: “This acquisition represents a pivotal moment for our colleagues at Code Nation, our learners, our funding partners and our employers, as well as Reed.”
“We will be able to offer a comprehensive suite of solutions to employers struggling to fill those technical roles and for job seekers struggling to find their footing in the competitive tech space.”
Fostering inclusivity in tech
In addition to bolstering Reed’s market position, the merger aims to promote greater inclusivity by providing tech training opportunities to underrepresented groups.
Code Nation has partnered with organizations focused on increasing diversity in the tech pipeline. The acquisition allows Reed to scale these initiatives and make tech careers more accessible to a wider range of candidates.
By combining recruitment expertise with cutting-edge training capabilities, Reed Global and Code Nation are positioned to address the tech talent shortage while fostering an inclusive workforce for the future.
