- Fin brings 30,000-plus customers into Salesforce’s Agentforce platform
SAN FRANCISCO, UNITED STATES — Salesforce has completed its $3.6 billion acquisition of Fin, an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered customer service agent company, closing the deal on September 10, 2026, months ahead of the original Q4 FY2027 target.
The early closing followed smoother-than-expected regulatory clearance, bringing Fin’s proprietary Apex model and its 30,000-plus global customers into Salesforce’s Agentforce platform portfolio.
Early close accelerates Salesforce agentic enterprise push
According to a report from Yahoo Finance, Salesforce said Fin’s AI agent resolves an average of 76% of customer support volume end-to-end across channels including Slack, WhatsApp, and email.
Salesforce’s Agentforce platform reached $1.2 billion in annual recurring revenue (ARR) in Q1 FY2027, up 205% year-over-year, signaling rapid enterprise adoption ahead of the Fin integration.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Fin to Salesforce as we enable every company to become an agentic enterprise. Fin brings proven agent technology, a deep commitment to customer success, and an incredible AI team that will complement Agentforce with powerful service agent capabilities,” said Marc Benioff, chair and chief executive officer at Salesforce.
Fin CEO sees faster global deployment through Salesforce scale
With Salesforce’s global enterprise customer base now as its distribution channel, Fin’s Apex model gains access to markets that would have taken years to reach independently.
The acquisition coincided with Salesforce’s launch of its Trusted Enterprise AI Harness governance platform, a framework the company says addresses enterprise AI oversight and compliance demands.
“Our technology has defined this category and set the new standards for what great customer service looks like today. By joining forces with Salesforce, we can deploy it far and wide at a rate far faster than we could have ever achieved on our own,” said Eoghan McCabe, chief executive officer and co-founder of Fin.
The business process outsourcing (BPO) sector has watched Salesforce’s Agentforce stack grow into a direct competitor to contact center outsourcers; IDC and Lenovo research shows 88% of enterprises with agent initiatives never reach production, a deployment gap Salesforce positions its integrated platform to close.
For enterprise buyers evaluating AI-augmented customer service outsourcing, the Fin acquisition signals that agentic platforms capable of resolving the majority of support interactions without human intervention are moving from pilot to production at large-enterprise scale.
With Fin’s 30,000-plus customer base and Apex model now embedded in Agentforce, Salesforce is positioned to compete for enterprise customer service contracts that currently sit with BPO providers across contact center and managed services markets.
