Seibels announces appointment of new CFO

SOUTH CAROLINA, UNITED STATES — Property and casualty insurance services provider Seibels recently appointed Laura Spells as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
According to Seibels’ press release, Spells will oversee the company’s accounting, auditing, finance, and treasury management activities.
Additionally, she will provide statutory financial reporting to the various departments of insurance, as well as financial reporting to the management, the Board of Directors, and Shareholders.
Spells previously served as Seibels’ Vice President of Accounting and Financial Services.
Nan Bruson, Seibels’ Chief Operations Officer, said that since joining the firm, “[Spells] has made tremendous progress in driving a culture of fiscal responsibility across the Company. She is a consummate coach and mentor.”

Spells brings over two decades of broad-based accounting experience, including building and leading successful finance teams. She is also a Certified Public Accountant with a Master of Accounting and Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting degrees from Georgia Southern University.
