SGS expands cosmetics testing with IEC acquisition
GENEVA, SWITZERLAND — SGS, a testing, inspection, and certification company, has announced its acquisition of Institut d’Expertise Clinique (IEC), a Clinical Research Organization specializing in advanced clinical testing for the cosmetics industry.
The acquisition, pending customary pre-closing conditions, will further enhance SGS’s capabilities in cosmetics and hygiene testing.

The acquisition aligns with SGS’s strategic goals to reinforce its position as a global leader in cosmetics and hygiene testing.
With IEC’s nearly 150 full-time employees and its complementary geographic footprint, SGS will be able to expand its reach and offer enhanced services to clients worldwide.
To help businesses operate more efficiently and effectively, SGS offers a range of outsourcing services, such as IT services, 24/7 operations support for the SGS network, and back office operations, including Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO).
