Sigma Connected to open first-ever contact center in Mitchells Plain, SA

Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) provider Sigma Connected is set to open a “state-of-the-art” call center facility in the township of Mitchells Plain in Cape Town, South Africa. This will be the first-ever contact center firm to operate in the area.
In a statement, Sigma Connected Managing Director David Neale said that this move aims to cut down the burden of commuting for their employees as the township is about 30 kilometers away from the Cape Town city center.
“Expanding into Mitchells Plain is a means of showing that we stand behind bold statements we make. Besides reducing less traveling time to work Sigma hopes the change will promote a better work-life balance,” Neale stated.
Cape Town employs over 60,000 people in the outsourcing sector. Setting up a call center facility in Mitchells Plain proves that it now has the infrastructure needed to support the industry.
Sigma Connected is looking to employ 60 people upon the opening of the facility, then increase it to about 1,000 jobs over the next three years.
