Singapore’s BPO/ITES online recruitment down 17% in July
Online recruitment for BPO/ITES (Business Process Outsourcing/IT-enabled Services) and IT, Telecom/ISP positions in Singapore dropped by 17% in July, compared to the same period last year.
According to the Monster Employment Index, this decline was due to the ongoing recalibration of the start-up ecosystem in the country.
Monster, however, is confident that the dip is temporary and will fade away in the coming months.
On the other hand, Singapore’s overall online recruitment registered a two per cent increase year-on-year and seven per cent month-on-month.
By industry, four of the 14 sectors monitored by the Index registered an increase in online recruitment activity, with Education leading the charge at 13%.
At the same time, online demand for professionals also remained positive for 8 of the 12 functions monitored by the Index.
